GENERAL INFORMATION ........................... 1. Dataset title: Mindful eating and effect on food consumption in childhood 2. Description of the methods for collection/generation of data: Data was collected from 207 minors from 3 different primary education centers in the province of Malaga. These centers, as well as the parents of the children, were informed about the aim and procedure of the study. Minors were divided into two groups (control and experimental group). The experimental group received the implementation of the MEPCOP program. Minors were evaluated through the Index of Adherence to the Mediterranean Diet for Children and Adolescents (KidMed: Serra-Majem, 2004). This index is composed by 16 dichotomous items (yes/no) and higher scores corresponds to greater adherence to the Mediterranean diet. Both groups were assessed in three different sessions: a) an initial evaluation (pretest) in September before the intervention program was applied; b) an evaluation in December at the end of the application of the program; and c) and a follow-up evaluation 3 months after the end of the application of the program, to evaluate whether the effects of the program prevailed. Data processing methods The data were transcribed into SPSS format. The KidMed total score was calculated from the responses to the KidMed items for pretest, posttest, and follow-up. 3. Software or instruments needed to interpret the data: IBM SPSS Statistic. Available in https://www.ibm.com/es-es/products/spss-statistics. 4. Standards and calibration information, if appropriate: 5. Environmental or experimental conditions: - Ej .: influencias atmosféricas, entorno computacional, etc. The research process used a quasi-experimental design with pre-post measures and a follow-up phase. The assessment sessions were held at the beginning of the academic year (September), at the end of the first term (December) and after the follow-up (March). The pupils completed the questionnaires by using the Google Form digital platform, using digital resources made available by the schools. Each evaluation phase was supervised by the teaching staff responsible for each group and by the staff responsible for the research.
