La prostitución en Andalucía durante el primer franquismo

Abstract

La prostitución, abolida en España en 1935, fue de nuevo reglamentada tras la guerra civil. El Patronato de Protección a la Mujer, creado en 1941 con el objetivo de rehabilitar a las mujeres prostitutas, fue uno de los instrumentos de la política moralizadora del régimen franquista. Las Memorias del citado patronato permiten una aproximación al conocimiento de la prostitución, una actividad desarrollada ampliamente durante la posguerra, vinculada a las circunstancias económicas del país y a los efectos de la represión sobre la población vencida.The prostitution, abolished in Spain in 1935, was regulated again after the civil war. The “Patronato de Protección a la Mujer” created in 1941 with the objective to rehabilitate to the prostitutes, was one of the instruments of the moralizing politics of the pro-Franco regime. The Memories of the mentioned patronage allow an approximation the knowledge of the prostitution, an activity developed widely during the post-war period, linked to the economic circumstances of the country and the effects of the repression on the defeated population.
