Place attachment, rootedness and attitudes of residents in a mature destination (Benalmádena , Costa del sol, Spain)

Abstract

This study is directly related to the role of local communities in the development of tourist destinations. The proper functioning of destinations is related to the attitudes shown by residents and some factors involved in these activities. We assess the attitudes of local communities towards tourism in a destination and its relationship with various variables such as attachment, rootedness and level of satisfaction with tourism development
