Abstract

This manuscript focuses on a specific application of microfluidic devices: fluid separation and water treatment. Throughout the different sections, it not only presents the state of the art in this field but also highlights how microfluidic technologies are being effectively employed through the design of innovative devices tailored for separation and purification tasks. The review specifically addresses three key processes: liquid–liquid separation, biological sample separation, and water purification. By the end of the document, readers will gain a clear understanding of how various microfluidic systems and techniques can be successfully applied in separation processes.
