Abstract
ABSTRACT This study analyzes acceptance speeches delivered by 25 women musical artists (2018-2024) with the aim of identifying the linguistic-discursive strategies that shape a recognizable communicative style and, on that basis, a specific model of female leadership in the contemporary music industry. The study is based on the hypothesis that these speeches function as micro-spaces of high symbolic visibility in which artists negotiate authority and public identity through recurrent pragmatic–discursive resources. The analysis adopts a sociopragmatic and discourse-analytical approach, incorporating insights from face and (im)politeness theories, and gender sociolinguistics. The findings show that authority is constructed through a stable repertoire—affective intensification, staged orality, autobiographical self-representation, affiliative strategies, and enunciative shifts—whose co-occurrence generates effects of authenticity and proximity. On this basis, the projected leadership aligns with a transformational framework, but is distinguished by a systematic shift toward shared legitimation, realized through the redistribution of credit, the visibility of professional networks, and the articulation of a collective voice that reframes individual recognition as a shared achievement.
