Abstract

The parametric generation is a non-lineal effect which allows the generation of low frequencies (secondary beam), emanating from high frequency beams (primary beam), showing a narrow directivity pattern, similar to that of the high frequencies, but maintaining a lower attenuation. In this case, the parametric effect is used for the construction of an acoustic calibrator for the detection of neutrinos in submarine telescopes. For that purpose, a systematic study with a flat transducer is presented, balancing the results on analytical and numerical models with experimental measures, using different sorts of signals, such as parametric sinus and sweeps.
