Abstract
Este proyecto comenzó como un juego, y esa sigue siendo su esencia, una broma entre amigas. En las vacaciones de Semana Santa, durante el encierro por la pandemia de 2020, cansada de conferencias, clases y reuniones virtuales, desempolvé las acuarelas y comencé la confección de esta baraja. Una en la que todas las figuras fueran reinas, y donde los cuatro palos de la baraja española (oros, copas, espadas y bastos) se convirtieran en vino, cerveza, cócteles y espirituosos. Un juego de naipes en el que retrato a mis amigas, mientras sonrientes y mirando a cámara, toman su bebida favorita. Y a partir de esta broma puedo reflexionar sobre la representación de la mujer, el juego y la narrativa, con esta obra que se adapta a diversos formatos y lenguajes, en un juego constante dentro y fuera de lo virtual.
Description
This project started as a game, and that is still its essence, a joke between friends. In the Easter holidays, during the lockdown due to the 2020 pandemic, tired of conferences, classes and virtual meetings, I dusted off the watercolors and started the production of this deck of cards. One in which all the figures were queens, and where the four suits of the Spanish deck (diamonds, cups, spades and clubs) were converted into wine, beer, cocktails and spirits. A card game in which I portray my friends, while smiling and looking at the camera they drink their favorite drink. And from this joke I can reflect on the representation of women, the game and the narrative, with this work that adapts to various formats and languages, in a constant game inside and outside the virtual.
