Abstract
Almayate quarry was intimately related to the evolution of the cathedral building works in the year 700. Its discovery resulted from the efforts made by the Main Builder to find material, its acquisition from the need to guarantee the continuous stone supply, its exploitation from the good relationship between quality, price and transport cost, and its abandonment from the lack of useful stone for these works. Quarry and cathedral interacted then to make possible the continuation of the building process in its second phase. As regards this use two very diverse fields must be mentioned: the direct exploitation and the entry system which is analyzed in this article.
