Abstract
During last decades of XVII Century, serious problems hung over the Spanish Monarchy. Lack of sucession of Carlos II, last monarch from the House of Austria, impelled the great european powers to interfere in spanish policy. At the same time, the Sultan of Morocco, Muley Ismail, started an attack against the spanish fortresses to remove spanish presence in North Africa. Due to these hazards, a military deployment (alarde) was convoked in the year 1691 at Ronda, in order to find out the availability of urban militia.
