The aim of this study is to determine if body mass index (BMI) has an impact on the probability of participating in the Spanish labor market. We use data taken from the European Health Interview Survey (EHIS) in Spain and carry out both a descriptive and an econometric analysis using probit and tobit models for limited dependent variables (LDV). Our results indicate that BMI affects the occupational status of working-age males and females living in Spain.es_ES
