EC+ a tool for creating communication opportunities at school

Abstract

The people need to communicate. However, sometimes there are certain circumstances that make some people have little or no chance to use speech or other conventional modes of communication to carry out communicative exchanges.. However, sometimes there are certain circumstances that make some people have little or no possibility of using speech or other conventional modes of communication to carry out communicative exchanges. In this case we refer to the people affected as people with "Complex Communication Needs" (CCN). Due to the difficulty or inability to use speech (or others conventional ways) as a natural means of communication, people with CCN will need to use systems or strategies of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to carry out communicative exchanges. In educational contexts, special education professionals must have some tools that allow them to create opportunities to interact with their students. EC + is an application (henceforth app) free of charge, which purpose is to increase functional communicative competence in people with Intellectual Disability.
