Abstract

Tidal range in estuaries is affected by for domminant processes; inertia related to acceleration and deceleration effects, amplification due to the decrease of width and depth, damping due to bottom friction and the reflection at abrupt changes of the cross-section. Using the 2D barotropic mode of the Mohid model, tidal range along the Guadiana Estuary is studied and discussed.
