Abstract
Through collections in 30 localities, the bryophytic flora of the westernmost territory of the Serranía de Ronda (Málaga, Spain) is studied. A total of 169 taxa form the bryophytic diversity found, of which 133 are mosses, 2 hornworts and 34 liverworts. Campylopus pilifer Brid, Mesoptychia turbinata (Raddi) L. Söderstr. & Váňa and Frullania teneriffae (F. Weber) Nees are cited for the first time in Málaga. The occurence of Fissidens serrulatus Brid. is confirmed in this province. Racomitrium heterostichum (Hedw.) Brid. is cited for the second time. Brachytheciastrum collinum (Schleich. ex Müll. Hal.) Ignatov & Huttunen, cited in this province, is excluded from the flora of the territory, its occurence in Andalusia is limited to Sierra Nevada (Granada). It is a noteworthy a group of localities, studied here, commonly known as La Sauceda (Cortes de la Frontera), presents an exceptional bryophytic flora in southern Spain. This is due to the rarity of some of its species in the Iberian Peninsula and its Atlantic-Macaronesian chorology.
