Abstract

Teaching methodologies have advanced significantly with the emergence of new technologies, including the use of social media platforms such as TikTok. This platform, widely popular among younger audiences for its short and dynamic videos, can be harnessed as an innovative educational tool in contrast to traditional approaches. This study presents a two-academic-year intervention carried out within a master’s level course across four Spanish universities. The intervention integrates TikTok into classroom practices with the aim of enhancing student engagement, promoting active learning methodologies, and supporting the acquisition of subject knowledge. The ultimate goal is to provide the educational community with practical guidance on the effective use of technologies that align with students’ interests, thereby bridging the gap between digital culture and higher education teaching practices.
