Abstract
José González Edo fue una figura destacada de la arquitectura y del urbanismo de la España contemporánea aunque la Guerra Civil truncó muchos de sus proyectos e incluso las posibilidades de crear la arquitectura que concebía con expresiones modernas y centroeuropeas. Su actividad en la provincia de Málaga fue intensa tanto en el ejercicio como profesional con despacho de arquitectura propio, como por ser el Arquitecto de Construcciones Escolares y el Arquitecto del Catastro de Urbana de la Delegación Provincial del Ministerio de Hacienda. Su trabajo relacionado con el urbanismo de la ciudad de Málaga y de otros planes de ordenación en la provincia fue causa de desencuentros con las autoridades malagueñas, no obstante José González Edo nunca perdió sus vínculos con Málaga.
José González Edo was an outstanding figure of the Architecture and Urbanism of the Contemporary Spain although the Civil War cut off many of the projects and also the possibilities to afford an Architecture conceived by modern expressions and that became from Central Europe. The activity of José González Edo in the province of Málaga was intense because he worked as an professional architect and as the Architect for the Schools Buildings as well as the Chief Architect of Urban Cadastre in the Provincial Delegation of the Financial Ministry. The urbanism works of José González Edo in the city of Málaga and in several plans in the Province promoted several disappointments with authorities, nevertheless he never lost his links with Málaga.
