Fuentes para la historiografía de la cultura bereber.

Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación es una compilación de fuentes diversas, analizando en un recorrido cronológico restos arqueológicos, crónicas, numismática, expresiones artísticas y fuentes historiográficas para reconstruir la historia de la cultura amazig. Un recorrido por lo escrito sobre el pueblo bereber, y lo que este pueblo ha producido por sí mismo. El objetivo es presentar una visión general de todas las posibles fuentes, cubriendo algunas de las lagunas que presenta este tema, con especial énfasis en la época antigua y medieval. La importancia de este trabajo radica en la absoluta necesidad de incluir la huella del pueblo bereber en la historiografía, sobre todo la referente al Mediterráneo: Península Ibérica y Norte de África. Los bereberes constituyen una pieza esencial del puzle histórico humano, pasado y presente, por lo que profundizar en el estudio de la cuestión bereber es esencial. También se resaltarán los problemas y dificultades que acarrea esta tarea, en cuanto a falta de fuentes o al estudio de fuentes menos tradicionales: fuentes orales o patrimonio etnográfico.

This research work is a compilation of diverse sources, including the analysis of archaeological remains, chronicles, numismatics, artistic expressions, and historiographical works, aiming to reconstruct the history of Amazigh culture. It is a journey through both what has been written about the Berber people and what they have produced themselves. The aim of this work is to provide a comprehensive overview of all available sources on the amazigh people to bridge some of the gaps in this field, with special emphasis on the ancient and medieval periods. The significance of this study lies in the urgent need to incorporate the Berber peoples’ legacy into historiography, particularly regarding the Mediterranean, the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa. Berbers represent a crucial element of the human historical narrative, both past and present, making an-in-depth study of their history rather indispensable. This work will also highlight the challenges that arise in such an endeavor, including the scarcity of sources and the necessity of exploring non-traditional materials, such as oral stories and ethnological heritage.
