Abstract
Studies about the notarial stratum have been increasing in the last few decades. Neverthless the figure of the royal notaries has been dealt with in a more secondary way. Not being appointed to a town or a specific office, their competences were very restricted and they faced with numerary notaries and those from the municipal town council such as we will analyze through this article focussing on Málaga in the seventeeth century.
