Abstract
This Final Degree Project in Industrial Technologies Engineering aims to design and calculate the structure of a shopping center located in the Los Rubiales Industrial Park, in Linares (Jaén). The projected structure is entirely made of steel and is divided into two main volumes: one intended for retail spaces and another, smaller one, intended for restaurants. The report describes the different phases of the work: from the preliminary study of the building’s layout and sectorization to the pre-dimensioning, calculation, and verification of the steel structure. Checks are included for resistance, instability (buckling and lateral-torsional buckling), and maximum deflection, as well as the definition of the foundation and structural joints. Finally, the final configuration of the structure is presented together with its 3D architectural modeling. For the development of the project, the BIM methodology is applied, integrating the different calculation and modeling programs through the BIMserver Center platform. The software used includes AutoCAD for preliminary sketches, CYPE Frame Generator and CYPE 3D for structural analysis, CYPE Connect for the study of joints, and CYPE Architecture for architectural representation. The result is a functional, stable, and safe structural proposal, in compliance with current regulations and capable of hosting the intended activity, meeting the demand for new commercial spaces in the city of Linares.
