Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of an English version of the Impairment and Functioning Inventory Revised (IFI-R-EV) in a sample of individuals with bothersome pain from the USA. In 2015, the IFI-R was revised using data from a Spanish sample of 483 individuals with back pain who were treated at primary care centres, and 137 patients with various pain conditions who were treated at a pain clinic. This process resulted in a revised version of the IFI (IFI-R) that was published in PM&R journal (Ramirez-Maestre, C., & Esteve, R, 2015: A new version of the Impairment and Functioning Inventory for patients with chronic pain (IFI-R). PM&R, 7(5), 455-465).
The findings indicate that the English version of the IFI-R (presented in this article) provides valid and reliable measures of daily function and impairment in English-speaking individuals with a disability and chronic pain.
