RT Conference Proceedings T1 Re-constructing Hidden Semantic Data Models by Querying SPARQL Endpoints A1 García-Godoy, María Jesús A1 López-Camacho, Esteban A1 Navas-Delgado, Ismael A1 Aldana-Montes, José Francisco K1 World Wide Web (Sistema de recuperación de la información) AB Linked Open Data community is constantly producing newrepositories that store information from different domains. The dataincluded in these repositories follow the rules proposed by the W3Ccommunity, based on standards such as Resource Description Framework(RDF) and the SPARQL query language. The main advantage ofthis approach is the possibility of external developers accessing the datafrom their applications. This advantage is also one of the main challengesof this new technology due to the cost of exploring how the data is structuredin a given repository in order to construct SPARQL queries toretrieve useful information. According to the reviewed literature, thereare no applications to reconstruct the underlying semantic data modelsfrom an SPARQL endpoint. In this paper, we present an applicationfor the reconstruction of the data model as an OWL (OntologyWeb Language) ontology. This application, available as Open Source athttp://github.com/estebanpua/ontology-endpoint-extraction uses a setof SPARQL queries to discover the classes and the (object and data)properties for a given RDF database. A web application interface hasalso been implemented for users to browse through classes, propertiesof the ontology generated from the data structure (http://khaos.uma.es/oee). The ontologies generated by this application can help users tounderstand how the information is semantically organized, making easierthe design of SPARQL queries.
