RT Journal Article T1 Toward Two-Photon Absorbing Dyes with Unusually Potentiated Nonlinear Fluorescence Response A1 Benítez-Martín, Carlos A1 Li, Shiming A1 Dominguez-Alfaro, Antonio A1 Nájera-Albendín, Francisco A1 Perez-Inestrosa, Ezequiel A1 Pischel, Uve A1 Andréasson, Joakim K1 Fotones AB The combination of two two-photon-induced processes in a Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET)-operatedphotochromic fluorene-dithienylethene dyad lays the foundation for the observation of a quartic dependence of the fluorescencesignal on the excitation light intensity. While this photophysical behavior is predicted for a four-photon absorbing dye, the hereinproposed approach opens the way to use two-photon absorbing dyes, reaching the same performance. Hence, the spatial resolutionlimit, being a critical parameter for applications in fluorescence imaging or data storage with common two-photon absorbing dyes, isdramatically improved PB American Chemical Society YR 2020 FD 2020 LK https://hdl.handle.net/10630/36098 UL https://hdl.handle.net/10630/36098 LA eng NO Carlos Benitez-Martin, Shiming Li, Antonio Dominguez-Alfaro, Francisco Najera, Ezequiel Pérez-Inestrosa, Uwe Pischel, and Joakim Andréasson Journal of the American Chemical Society 2020 142 (35), 14854-14858 DOI: 10.1021/jacs.0c07377 NO Swedish Research CouncilSpanish Ministry for Science, Innovation, and UniversitiesUniversidad de Málaga-Junta de AndalucíaFEDER founds DS RIUMA.
