RT Conference Proceedings T1 Phoenician communities in the Roman world: the case of Hispania A1 Machuca Prieto, Francisco K1 Roma - Historia K1 Fenicios AB This poster aims to report the conclusions of ourPhD thesis, titled The Phoenician communities ofthe Iberian Peninsula and their integration inthe Roman world: an identity perspective. Theperiod under discussion extends from the endof the Second Punic War in 206 BCE to theFlavian era (mid-first century CE).Above all, our dissertation focuses on the culturaland ethnic dimensions of the process of integrationof communities of Phoenician origin and tradition inthe southern part of the Iberian Peninsula intothe structures of Roman Empire.The theoretical framework which we take as ourstarting point rests on two pillars:- Social Constructivism.- Postcolonial Theories.
