T1 Couple’s decision-making process and their satisfaction with the tourist destination

AB Satisfaction with the tourist destination is an issue that has attracted the interest of many researchers. However, it hasrarely been related to the decision-making process when choosing the destination. This is precisely the objective of thisresearch, carried out with a study based on a sample of 371 couples, whose members responded separately, giving it greaterreliability. The absence of conflict during the decision-making process and joint adoption of decisions are the variables sharedby the most satisfied tourists, whether men or women. Furthermore, it has not been demonstrated that the existence of aconsensus between the couple on their perceptions of how the decision was reached has any influence on the satisfactionexperienced. These findings have implications that are discussed in this article -La satisfacción con el destino turístico es una cuestión que ha atraído el interés de muchos investigadores. Sin embargo, pocas veces se ha relacionado con el proceso de toma de decisiones a la hora de elegir el destino. Este es precisamente el objetivo de esta investigación, realizada con un estudio basado en una muestra de 371 parejas, cuyos miembros respondieron por separado, lo que le otorga una mayor fiabilidad. La ausencia de conflicto durante el proceso de toma de decisiones y la adopción conjunta de decisiones son las variables que comparten los turistas más satisfechos, ya sean hombres o mujeres. Además, no se ha demostrado que la existencia de un consenso entre la pareja sobre sus percepciones de cómo se ha llegado a la decisión tenga alguna influencia en la satisfacción experimentada. Estos hallazgos tienen importantes implicaciones prácticas que también se discuten en este artículo.
