RT Journal Article T1 Pyramid segmentation algorithms revisited. A1 Marfil-Robles, Rebeca A1 Molina-Tanco, Luis A1 Bandera-Rubio, Antonio Jesús A1 Rodríguez-Fernández, Juan Antonio A1 Sandoval-Hernández, Francisco K1 Procesado de imágenes K1 Electrónica AB The main goal of this work is to compare pyramidal structures proposed to solvesegmentation tasks. Segmentation algorithms based on regular and irregular pyramidsare described, together with the data structures and decimation procedures whichencode and manage the information in the pyramid. In order to compare the differentsegmentation algorithms, we have employed three types of quality measurements: theshift variance measure, the F function and the Q function.
