RT Journal Article T1 SS and LCC–LCC in Simultaneous Wireless Power and Data Transfer: A Comparative Analysis for SAE J2954-Compliant EVs A1 Casaucao-Tenllado, Inmaculada A1 Triviño-Cabrera, Alicia A1 Corti, Fabio A1 Reatti, Alberto K1 Transferencia de energía AB Simultaneous wireless power and data transfer (SWPDT) is a technology that enables the transfer ofelectrical power and data signals at the same time. Sincethe transfer is performed through the same physical link, particular attention must be placed on the frequency response and mutual influence between data and powerchannels. Although several studies have been proposedfor SWPDT modeling applied to electric vehicles (EV), anextensive analysis of the influence of misalignment on thefrequency response of the data channels is lacking in theliterature. This article investigates the robustness to misalignment of the data channel using two main resonanttopologies, such as those based on series–series (SS) andLCC–LCC compensation circuits. The analytical model ofthe data channel is derived for both topologies and theperformances are evaluated in two lab prototypes usingthe misalignment scenarios described in the SAE J2954standard. Variables, such as efficiency, signal-to-noise ratio(SNR), and capacity of the data channel have been analyzed. Similarly, attention has been paid to backward datatransmission, which is of interest for vehicle-to-grid chargers. The obtained results in each analysis show that thedata channel in LCC–LCC topology has a more stable andsymmetrical performance PB IEEE YR 2024 FD 2024-06 LK https://hdl.handle.net/10630/32153 UL https://hdl.handle.net/10630/32153 LA eng NO I.
