RT Journal Article T1 A Literature Review of Incorporating Crack Tip Plasticity into Fatigue Crack Growth Models A1 García-González, Antonio Luis A1 Castro Egler, Cristina A1 Aguilera-García, José Antonio A1 Moreno Cerezo, Pablo A1 López-Crespo, Pablo K1 Mecánica de la fractura AB This paper presents an extensive literature review focusing on the utilisation of crack tip plastic-ity as a crucial parameter in determining and enhancing crack growth models. The review encompassesa comprehensive analysis of various methodologies, predominantly emphasising numerical simulationsof crack growth models while also considering analytical approaches. Although experimental inves-tigations are not the focus of this review, their relevance and interplay with numerical and analyticalmethods are acknowledged. The paper critically examines these methodologies, providing insightsinto their advantages and limitations. Ultimately, this review aims to offer a holistic understanding ofthe role of crack tip plasticity in the development of effective crack growth models, highlighting thesynergies and gaps between theoretical, experimental, and simulation-based approaches PB MDPI YR 2023 FD 2023 LK https://hdl.handle.net/10630/36068 UL https://hdl.handle.net/10630/36068 LA eng DS RIUMA.
