RT Journal Article T1 Persons Who Fear Freedom and Equality Are the Ones Who Most Blame Women Who are Victims of Acquaintance Rape A1 Canto-Ortiz, Jesús María A1 San-Martín-García, Jesús Emilio A1 Perles-Novas, Fabiola A1 Vallejo-Martín, Macarena K1 Crímenes contra las mujeres K1 Delitos sexuales - Aspectos sociológicos K1 Autoritarismo AB This study analyzes whether the degree of right-wing authoritarianism and socialdominance orientation influence the blame placed on a woman who is the victimof an acquaintance rape. The participants read a rape scenario and responded tothree questionnaires about the blame of the victim, right-wing authoritarianism, and social dominance. The results show that greater blame was attributed to thevictim when the participants scored high in right-wing authoritarianism or socialdominance. They also reveal an interaction between both variables: participants whoscored high in both right-wing authoritarianism and social dominance attributed thegreatest blame to the victim.
