AB Agricola constituye un manifiesto político que responde a las ideas de un grupo partidariode Nerva y Trajano y opuesto, desde la moderatio, a los Flavios. En este contexto, la libertaspertenece al Senado y consiste en libertad de expresión. La concordia es el fundamento de lasuperioridad romana frente a los pueblos sometidos. Julio Agricola es un ejemplo, al igual queNerva, de cómo hacer política bajo los tiranos teniendo el servicio al estado romano como elprincipal objetivo.
AB Agricola constitutes a political speech in response to the ideas of a group partial to Nervaand Trajano and, from the moderatio, opposed to the Flavian dinasty. In this context, the libertasbelongs to the Senate and consists of freedom of speech. The concordia is the foundation of theRoman superiority towards conquered peoples. Julio Agricola is an example, like Nerva is, ofhow to do politics under tyrants with the service to the Roman state as the principal target.
