RT Journal Article T1 Self-Healing Framework for Next-Generation Networks through Dimensionality Reduction. A1 Palacios, David A1 Fortes-Rodríguez, Sergio A1 De la Bandera Cascales, Isabel A1 Barco-Moreno, Raquel K1 Telecomunicaciones AB Next generation self-organizing networks (NGSONs)are the key that will lead to the full automation ofthe network management in the forthcoming generations ofcellular communications. New challenges, like the deploymentof novel wireless services or the aim of operators at providingan end-to-end monitoring and optimization, make it necessaryto develop an innovative scheme for network management. Inthis paper, a self-healing (SH) framework for next-generationnetworks using dimensionality reduction is proposed as the toolenabling the management of an increasingly complex network, taking advantage of both feature selection and feature extractiontechniques. A proof of concept has been carried out in the contextof automatic diagnosis in a live network. Results show that theproposed framework can effectively manage a high-dimensionalenvironment, eventually automating the tasks usually performedby troubleshooting experts while optimizing the performance ofthe diagnosis tool.
