RT Report T1 Smart electrification of end-use sectors: benefits for distribution grids. A1 Jiménez Navarro, Juan Pablo A1 Anisie, Arina A1 González, Adrián A1 Antic, Tomislav A1 Vrochidis, Giannis K1 Energía eléctrica - Distribución K1 Sistemas electroenergéticos K1 Redes de energía eléctrica inteligentes AB This study aims to inform relevant stakeholders about the benefits that smart electrificationstrategies can bring to energy systems. The objective is to quantify these benefits for a distributiongrid that serves electricity to a residential area. The analysis demonstrates how harnessing flexibilityfrom distributed energy resources allow grids to be better prepared for a largely electrified future. This implies, on the one hand, the reduction of grid losses that are proportional to the electricitycurrents, and, on the other hand, the deferral of grid investments. These benefits require quantitativeassessment to better assess such benefits for each context.
