RT Conference Proceedings T1 Generating order policies by SDP: non-stationary demand and service level constraints A1 Pauls-Worm, Karin G.J. A1 Hendrix, Eligius María Theodorus K1 Arquitectura de ordenadores AB Inventory control implies dynamic decision making. Therefore, dynamic programming seems an appropriate approach to look fororder policies. For finite horizon planning, the implementation of servicelevel constraints provides a big challenge. This paper illustrates withsmall instances the implementation of stochastic dynamic programming(SDP) to derive order policies in a straightforward way for systems withnon-stationary demand and service level constraints. The small instancesallow to perform a full enumeration of possible policies and show thatthe SDP derived policies are not necessarily optimal.
