T1 El Trapiche del Prado : un establecimiento preindustrial en la Marbella del Antiguo Régimen

AB En el presente artículo nos ocupamos de la industria azucarera en Marbella a través delestudio del Trapiche del Prado. Este establecimiento construido en el siglo XVII perteneció a laInquisición que lo explotó en régimen de arrendamiento. La comparación de los actuales restosmateriales con la función de los espacios descritos en la documentación del siglo XVIII relativaal mantenimiento del edificio permite establecer la primitiva morfología del establecimientoen relación al proceso de la fabricación de azúcar en la etapa preindustrial y la evolución de latecnología empleada.
AB In the present article we deal with the sugar industry in Marbella across the study ofthe “Trapiche del Prado”. This establishment constructed in the 17th century belonged to theInquisición that exploited it in regime of lease. The comparison of the current material remainswith the function of the spaces described in the documentation of the 18th century relative to themaintenance of the building allows to establish the primitive morphology of the establishmentin relation to the process of the sugar manufacture in the preindustrial stage and the evolutionof the used technology.
