T1 El Ayuntamiento de Alcoy en el siglo XVIII : la renuncia como práctica generalizada

AB Con la abolición de los fueros en 1707, y la sustitución del modelo municipal vigentehasta ese momento en tierras valencianas por el de regidores al estilo castellano, la villa deAlcoy pasó a tener ocho regidores, nombrados por el rey, que debían ejercer sus cargos conuna duración vitalicia. En el presente trabajo nos proponemos abordar las dificultades que endeterminados momentos del siglo XVIII se tuvieron para completar la dotación inicialmenteasignada al ayuntamiento alcoyano, así como descubrir el porqué de ese rechazo a incorporarseen el consistorio por parte de los individuos seleccionados para dichos cargos.
AB With the abolition of privileges in 1707 and the replacement of the existing municipalmodel in Valencian by the regidores of the Castilla style, the town of Alcoy became to have eightcouncil, appointed by the king, who should exercise their positions lasting lifetime. In this paperwe propose to study the difficulties at certain times of the 18th Century were taken to complete theallocation initially assigned to the town hall of Alcoy and, at the same time, discover the reasonfor this rejection to join the consistory by individuals selected for such positions.
