An agent-based cellular automaton model is used to model the environment and the collective behavior of the crowd, taking into account both rational decision-making and social interaction. We have developed an interactive visualization tool that is used to provide a demonstration of the use of this model and show how it can be used to capture different qualitative crowd behaviors.
