RT Conference Proceedings T1 On the Phase Response and Radiation Efficiency of the Complementary Strip-Slot as an Array Element A1 Abdo-Sánchez, María Elena A1 Martín-Guerrero, Teresa María A1 Esteban Marzo, Jaime A1 Camacho-Peñalosa, Carlos K1 Comunicaciones AB The complementary strip-slot element is a broadlymatchedmicrostrip radiator that has been used to design innovativeseries-fed arrays. It consists of a microstrip series-fed slotthat have its complementary stub on the layer of the microstripand aligned to the slot. In this contribution, the influence of thestrip and slot geometry on its performance is studied through theanalysis of four different designs. The obtained results highlightthe possibility of controlling the radiation efficiency or the phaseresponse, without compromising the broad matching. Therefore, potential series-fed arrays built with this element can exploit thisfeature to set the magnitude and phase of the excitations withcertain flexibility.
