RT Journal Article T1 Trasformazioni spontanee e pianificate: la Plaza de la Marina a Malaga. A1 Santana-Guzmán, Antonio Jesús K1 Urbanismo - Málaga AB Malaga has always been a city open to the Mediterranean Sea. At the end of the 19thcentury, since the port moved away from the urban fabric, the space created between bothsectors would be addressed by many proposals. However, none of them would find a definitivesolution for the space that we know today as Plaza de la Marina. In the 20th century, the Plazaturned to be the main entrance to the city from the port. The largest intervention has been setup in the eighties, when an underground parking was built bringing to light outstanding archaeologicalremains un-fortunately destroyed. The result in the surface was not to the taste of thecitizens and shortly after its appearance would change again on different occasions. Currently,we continue talking about future modifications. Hopefully, some of them will give the role itshould play in the urban fabric of the historic center.
