The journey through Spain of John Synge and three views of Toledo in 1813 Novo-Sánchez, Francisco Javier Toledo - Descripción y viajes In 1812 the Irishman John Henry Synge joins the list of British travellers who accomplished a journey through Europe. During his continental experience through Spain, Portugal and Italy he wrote a tour journal and completed five sketchbooks. The manuscript titled Views in Spain includes three views of Toledo in 1813, containing iconic monuments of the city.
