Trasformazioni spontanee e pianificate: la Plaza de la Marina a Malaga. Santana-Guzmán, Antonio Jesús Urbanismo - Málaga Malaga has always been a city open to the Mediterranean Sea. At the end of the 19th century, since the port moved away from the urban fabric, the space created between both sectors would be addressed by many proposals. However, none of them would find a definitive solution for the space that we know today as Plaza de la Marina. In the 20th century, the Plaza turned to be the main entrance to the city from the port. The largest intervention has been set up in the eighties, when an underground parking was built bringing to light outstanding archaeological remains un-fortunately destroyed. The result in the surface was not to the taste of the citizens and shortly after its appearance would change again on different occasions. Currently, we continue talking about future modifications.
