Smart structures are highly interconnected
adaptive systems that are coordinated by cyber systems to optimize specific system objectives. To capture realistic IoT scenarios we must employ threat models that allow untrusted behavior and address system vulnerabilities, exploits and attack vectors. Resilience is defined in terms of stability, resistance to damage and self-healing. In this paper we analyze the challenges of establishing resilience for smart structures by considering the supply chain paradigm. For this, RFID tagged objects in pallets are scanned by RFID readers and tag ownership is transferred
from a current to a new owner. This involves untrusted readers inspecting pallets and identifying missing objects, without being
able to trace tagged objects via unauthorized inspections, and the privacy of owners.
