Solo travel is an enriching way of experiencing the world, promoting personal growth and autonomy, which makes it an increasingly valued practice in today's society.
The growing interest in this type of tourism has given rise to a literature that is expanding over time. However, there is still a need to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Solo Traveler concept. Based on this need, this study presents a preliminary analysis of the current scholarship on this concept to understand its thematic evolution, trends and future lines of research.
To this end, we first propose a bibliometric analysis and then develop a systematic review of the literature, analysing the content to propose a conceptual model that provides a holistic understanding of the Solo Traveler concept.
