We intend to conduct a study of the Letter to the Colossians 3.21, taking as a starting point the cultural honor-shame binomial. We highlight how important these two anthropological values become in the relationship of parents with their children in the early church. Our goal is to offer a biblical understanding, as well as contextual information about the instruction parents should give their children. A rereading of the text, with the help of anthropology cultural, addresses the message especially, as both the commentary of the Letter to the Colossians and the command that parents receive will take on a new dimension from the christian perspective.
