Las relaciones iglesia-estado en Málaga durante el franquismo 1936-1975

Abstract

Este artículo analiza la evolución de la Iglesia Católica en Málaga durante los años de dictadura franquista. Con ese fin, se estudian las políticas emprendidas por esta organización durante esos años. Así se muestran, por un lado, los intentos de la Iglesia Católica por ampliar su ya amplio poder en la ciudad; y por otro, los momentos de fricción que esto generó entre las relaciones Iglesia y Estado y el distanciamiento progresivo de la Iglesia en los últimos años del régimen de Franco. Todo ello enmarcado en el contexto nacional y comparado con las aportaciones que la historia local española ha realizado sobre este tema.This article analyses the evolution of the Catholic Church in Malaga during the years of the Franco regime. It also studies the politics it carried out during this period. Thus, we will examine, on the one hand, the Church’s attempt to expand its extensive power base in the city, and on the other hand, the friction which this created between Church and State and the progressive separation of the Church during the last years of the dictatorship. All this occurs in a national context and is set against the comparative example of other regional cities that local historians have provided.
