Evolución y perspectivas del turismo en el Mediterráneo

Abstract

En este artículo se realiza un breve resumen de la evolución histórica del turismo en el Mediterráneo, destacando la extensa tradición que el turismo tiene en la zona. Este mar ha visto surgir las más diversas actividades de ocio en los últimos dos mil años. Hay que constatar que la tendencia al viaje hacia este mar, por parte de los pueblos del centro y el norte de Europa, es un hábito arragaido. El Mediterráneo ha visto como tempranamente creció en su orilla el turismo de masas y como, a pesar del tiempo transcurrido, sigue siendo el principal destino mundial, aunque nuevas regiones turísticas disputan su primacía.This paper makes a short resume of the historical evolution of the Tourism in the Mediterranean Sea. It focuses on the large touristical tradition. This sea has seen to arise the most diversify leisure activities along the last two thousand years. It cheeks that travelling trends towards to Mediterranean Sea is an old custom for Central Europe and North Europe peoples. Tourism Mass that grew up on its shore very early has been seen by the Mediterranean Sea, and goes on the main tourist destination on the world, although new tourist regions challenge the first place.
