Abstract
After examining the state of astrology during the eighteenth century, this article details the arguments employed by Diego de Torres Villarroel and Benito Feijoo in a bitter controversy that took place in the late first quarter of that century. This polemic demonstrates that, contrary to common assumptions, astrology remained very much alive in the midst of the "Age of Reason," albeit linked to almanac literature whose primary audience was the common people.
