Alcabalas de Málaga : del arrendamiento al encabezamiento (1501-1518)

Abstract

Las alcabalas fueron a partir del s. XV el impuesto ordinario más importante de Castilla y el mejor indicador económico del consumo urbano. Sus relaciones nos permiten estudiar tanto la geografía tributaria de los partidos como el peso específico de los diversos productos en el mercado. Pero, además de estos aspectos referentes al tributo, importan también los distintos sistemas de recaudación, en torno a los cuales hubo una lucha sorda ya que tanto el arrendamiento como el encabezamiento abrigaban intereses diferentes.Fom XVth century onwards the alcabalas were the most important ordinary taxes of the Crown of Castile and, therefore, the most significative index of urban consume. The list of alcabalas allow us on one hand study of fiscal districts and, on the other, the importance of each item sold in urban markets. However the scholar must consider as well the systems of perception of these taxes and the persons involved in them, because there was a clear struggle between differents sections of urban oligarchies in order to control the collection of the alcabalas.
